Our MCPASD staff members are advocates for positive change both in our District and beyond!
We are excited to shine the staff spotlight on Abigail Bertelsman, Administrative Assistant to Business and Employee Services.
Last month, Abigail traveled to Washington, D.C., for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. Her mission was to advocate for more funding for cancer research and promote a groundbreaking new blood test that can detect multiple types of cancer.
After speaking with members of the House and Senate, Abigail is excited to share that the Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) Blood Test will be covered by most insurances once it receives FDA approval, starting in January 2028.
Abigail is passionate about advocating for cancer research and ethical practices because she dreams of a day when cancer is no longer a threat.
Congratulations Abigail!
