The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a $200,000 grant to modernize its transportation fleet with the addition of one clean school bus. This funding, made possible through the 2023 Clean School Bus Program funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and championed by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, signifies a leap towards a more sustainable and healthy future for our students and community.
The introduction of a clean school bus not only furthers our commitment to environmental stewardship but also aligns with our mission to provide a safe, efficient, and healthy mode of transportation for our students. These efforts are critical as we aim to reduce our carbon footprint, cut dependence on fossil fuels, and ensure the health and wellbeing of our future generations.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Jerrud Rossing, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the impact of this funding on the District and community, stating, "We are thrilled to be at the forefront of sustainable transportation for our students with the addition of a clean school bus, made possible through the generous funding. Our heartfelt thanks go to Senator Baldwin and everyone involved in championing for a greener future. This clean school bus is more than just a vehicle; it stands as a promise of a healthier, cleaner environment for our students to learn and grow."
The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District is proud to be among the 24 Wisconsin school districts benefiting from this round of funding.
"Middleton is proud to support the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District in their efforts to create a cleaner, healthier environment for our students with this $200,000 grant," said City of Middleton Mayor Emily Kuhn. "This investment in sustainable transportation is a significant step toward reducing our carbon footprint and fostering a greener future for our community."
