The District is requesting that families of students in the Universal instructional model who didn't complete the transportation form when it was available recently do so in the coming days.
The District received nearly 3,000 responses, but is still looking to find out if the remaining 2,700 students who are in the Universal instructional model plan to use District bus transportation once children return to school buildings, Director of Communications Perry Hibner said. Without this information, we can’t determine if we can eliminate routes or finalize rosters for each route, Hibner added.
The transportatation form is available at this link. Families will need their child’s student identification number to access the form. The student ID number is available in Campus Parent Portal.
The District is requesting that families who have yet to fill out the transportation form for each child in their household who is in the Universal model do by before the form closes at 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, Hibner said.
The District plans to announce bus routes, including pick-up and drop-off times and locations, for PK-4th grade students the week of Jan. 25-29. Here are the dates we plan to announce the other routes:
- Feb. 15-19: Bus routes announced for middle school students.
- March 1-5: Bus routes announced for high school students.
Families that are eligible for District transportation can rqeuest that a student be picked up, dropped off or both. If a child needs to be picked up or dropped off at a location different than a family's home address, families are asked to use the District's online tranpsortation form to include that information. Students will be picked up at on consistent location and dropped off at one consistent location.
Families are also asked to include the physical address their children are learning when they aren’t at in-person schooling and include the name and phone number of a person who can be contacted in case of an emergency.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations noted mitigation strategies that will be put in places on District buses include:
- Students and adults on buses will be required to wear a face covering, if medically able to do so.
- Students will have assigned seats to comply with physical distancing of 6 feet to the greatest extent possible.
- Students from the same household will be seated together.
