Shout out to Middleton Youth Center Director Gabrielle Hinahara! She was recently honored as one of only 10 'Outstanding Youth Workers' in Dane County by the Madison-area Out-of-School Time (MOST) initiative!
Gabrielle was recognized for her outstanding leadership abilities and her compassion. She reopened the Middleton Youth Center in 2014 after it was closed due to low enrollment and has now grown the program exponentially. The Middleton Youth Center provides a daily after-school program and 8-week summer camp. Students have the opportunity to participate in sports, enrichment activities, pool days, field trips, and to receive academic support and mentoring.
He passion for education shines through her work! During her career as a Middleton Youth Center Director, she has been a strong advocate for affordable child care. She has worked to ensure the program remains free to families who utilize the free and reduced meal program.
She also started a mentorship program that allows students to get the one-on-one learning time they need.
We are proud of all that Gabrielle has accomplished and are thankful to have her as a leader in our school community.
