MHS Students Win National Championship at FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference was held June 27–June 30th in Atlanta, GA. Middleton High School had 28 students compete at the National Leadership Conference. Over 13,000 students from across the United States and around the world attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 70 business and business-related competitive events.

Dhruv Prakash and Dheeraj Pasikanti won the national championship in their Banking & Financial System event. The Banking & Financial System event consisted of a collaborative, objective test and an interactive role-play. It has been over 20 years since a team from Middleton High School won a national championship in an FBLA event.

 MHS had a total of 15 students who won national awards. The following students received national recognition and received trophies for placing in the Top 10 in their events. The following students placed national Top 10 for their event:

  • Li Ying, Ethan Sanders, and Patrick DeCabooter took 5th place in Coding & Programming.
  • Jonathan Kim took 5th place in Computer Applications.
  • Mohith Muchukota took 7th place in Introduction to Information Technology.
  • Aydin Rosas took 7th place in Digital Video Production.
  • Eric Ma took 7th place in Computer Game & Simulation Programming.
  • Netra Somasundaram, Shivani Potnuru, and Amritha Mavuri took 7th place in Social Media Strategies
  • Rishika Kommuri, Raghvi Sethi, and Punitha Manne took 9th place in Introduction to Business Presentation.

The awards were part of a comprehensive national competitive events program that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. For many students, competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to competitions, students immersed themselves in interactive workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and heard from motivational speakers on a broad range of business topics.
