Welcome Tony Rivera Dugas Jr., Our New Director of Student, Family, and Staff Engagement!

The MCPASD is honored to welcome our new Director of Student, Family, and Staff Engagement, Tony Rivera Dugas Jr. Tony comes to MCPASD with an impressive 25-year career in education, marked by transformative achievements and exceptional success across various levels in public, traditional, and non-traditional schools.

As a trailblazer in his family, Tony was the first to attend and graduate from a 4-year college, proudly earning his degree from a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). He furthered his education by obtaining a master's and Ph.D. from the prestigious University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Before stepping into leadership roles, Tony spent six years as a dedicated teacher, laying a solid foundation for his future endeavors. In 2009, Tony began his leadership journey in Wisconsin as Principal of Northside Elementary in Sun Prairie. After five years, he landed a job as Principal of Georgia O'Keeffe Middle School in Madison, where he has been ever since. 

His far-reaching experience encompasses multiple regions across the United States, including his home state of Louisiana, Washington D.C., and Boston, Massachusetts. This rich and diverse background has endowed Tony with a unique and comprehensive perspective on the education sector, making him a powerful force for change.

Driven by a deep-rooted commitment to creating a lasting legacy in every organization he has served, Tony's ultimate mission is to ensure every child has access to the highest quality education possible. He passionately advocates for equity in education and believes in the transformative power of learning.

As Tony joins our inclusive team, we are confident that his unwavering dedication will uplift all students, especially historically marginalized students and families. Please join us in extending a heartfelt welcome to Tony Rivera Dugas Jr.
