Kromrey Middle School was honored to host State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski at the school library on Thursday, March 17, 2022. There, she presented the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands Common School Fund to the District.
This year marks a record high of $40.6 million granted to school libraries across the state!
"Today, we got an opportunity to have our students meet some amazing people who are really invested in them. Now we will have a little more money to meet the needs we need to meet." Said Kromrey Principal Dominque Ricks.

This annual fund is shared across the District to all of our school libraries. They are able to utilize these monies for a variety of tools, including updating their collection of books and purchasing new technology. This year MCPASD was awarded $334,563! Kromrey Middle School is excited to use some of this fund to diversify its library by ordering books in other languages such as Spanish.
"I think diversity, equity, and inclusion is critical, and often we know that sometimes these initiatives don't get the resources they need. Knowing that this record distribution is going to benefit those critical efforts and initiatives -- I think it is one of the reasons I am so proud to be a part of this," said Treasurer Godlewski.
Also in attendance for the celebration were Mayor Gurdip Brar, Representative Dianne Hesselbein, Middleton Councilmember Emily Kuhn, Middleton Councilmember Robert Burck, Board of Education President Bob Hesselbein, and Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue.
