Hello and welcome to our Monthly Update with Monogue.
We have so many exciting things to tell you about so let's dive right in.
First, I want to thank our incredible staff for everything they did to welcome and support our students during the first quarter of this school year. We are dealing with staffing shortages in areas like substitutes, paraprofessionals, food service, and bus drivers. Every day, people in our facilities and schools are being asked to pitch in and add to their already significant workloads. Our students have needed extra care and support as they build the stamina to thrive in a full-time school environment, requiring additional preparation and planning from our educators. All of these efforts are recognized and appreciated by our entire community.
Our district finally celebrated the opening of our new elementary school, Pope Farm. It officially opened in the fall of 2020, but the ribbon-cutting ceremony was delayed until this year due to the pandemic. We had dozens of people come together from our community to celebrate including past and present board members. We also had Mel Pope, and the Friends of the Pope Farm Conservancy attend. Together, they worked hard to secure the land for our district, and we are forever grateful for the contributions they have made to our community. It is the first school to be added in over two decades! The need for a new school became vital in managing student enrollment rates. Like any big family, we needed a little elbow room.
Our nursing staff is such a virtual part of our MCPASD family. They always have been great at handling any challenge thrown their way, but they have gone above and beyond to keep up with COVID protocols and best practices on top of their everyday duties.
They were recently recognized during a board meeting for all their hard work. Thank you for keeping our schools healthy and safe! We appreciate you!
Our Business and Employee Services Team has been working diligently to make sure our vacancies are posted far and wide, qualified staff are hired, onboarded, and all the paperwork for licensing and payroll are accurate. They have worked tirelessly in preparation for the current open enrollment for health insurance. Our finance department keeps our fiscal management functions running smoothly. They prepare long-range financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. We strive for excellent stewardship for the district and although much of their work is not seen, heard, or touched by staff; I want to thank them for all their hard work. We value and appreciate you!
Congratulations to the Middleton High School Marching Band for placing 2nd in the marching band state championship. This performance marked the finale of a six-week competitive season in which they placed first in the Fox River and Oak Creek Marching Invitationals. What a fantastic season for our marching band! Great work!
Our very own Officer Chung has been nominated for the First Responder of the Year Award for the 79th Assembly District! He was recognized last month for all his great work with Middleton High School. State Representative Dianne Hesselbein, Police Chief Troy Hellenbrand and other past SRO's presented him with the award. Congratulations Officer Chung! This award is well deserved!
MHS Dance Coach Jackie Rehberg was nominated as coach of the week for Channel 3 news! Coach Rehberg is all about confidence. She works hard to make sure that the team feels prepared to take on anything both on and off the dance floor.

Our fall sports teams continue to have really successful seasons. Many of our teams competed at the sectional or state levels with huge success. Congratulations to our players and their coaches.
Our board of education hit the road to learn more about the inner workings of our district. Recently, they toured the Middleton Police Department, the District Transportation Center, and the Operations Center to learn more about our partnership with the Middleton Police Department. They learned about safety and security efforts, our transportation system, food service operations, and how we manage our facilities. It was an excellent learning experience for our Board members, and we thank them for their interest in all aspects of district operations!
Our communications department presented the first strategic communications plan for MCPASD. The plan was created to align with the district's current Strategy Map and work surrounding equity. Our team will also be crafting a communications plan specifically for our Spanish-speaking families.
Thank you to the Bucciferro Family Mcdonalds for providing our staff with complimentary breakfast for the week! We appreciate our community partnerships that support our school district and show love to our staff that work hard each and every day for our students and families.
Finally, I want to thank you for your support of our educators and our staff. Messages of support and gratitude for them are so important and appreciated.
