Monthly Update with Monogue

Beginning today is the Monthly Update with Monogue! Instead of just reading about the awards, events and current happenings in our district, you will hear them directly from our Superintendent Dana Monogue. You can watch the video here

Don't worry if you are more of a reader. We still have the sign-up for the monthly newsletter as well!

Without further adieu, let's get started!

Bright Lights:

On October 2nd, 2021, our district learned about the passing of two of our seniors and a former Middleton High School student that were tragically lost in a car crash.

This has been an incredibly difficult time for our students and staff, but not nearly as so for the family and friends of John "Jack" Miller, Evan Kratochwill, and Simon Bilessi. Our hearts are with those who knew and loved our students.

There are never right words to bring solace to those grieving, but we wish to remind them they are not alone. The MCPASD family will continue to draw strength from each other during this difficult time.

We choose always to remember the positive impact they had on their family, friends, and this community.

We're the #1 school district in Dane County:

MCPASD has been named the #1 district in Dane County and #2 in the state of Wisconsin by Niche.com. This ranking is based on state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, and teacher quality, to name a few.

Thank you to our amazing principals, teachers, and staff. This ranking is a testament to all your hard work and dedication.

National Principals Month:

MCPASD is proud to have 11 amazing principals who are true leaders in our district! Thank you for your dedication to helping our staff and students succeed.

National Merit semi-finalists:

Middleton High School is one of the top schools in the state with the largest number of National Merit semi-finalists! In order to qualify as a semi-finalist, a student must have one of the highest SAT scores in the state. There are only about 16,000 semi-finalists recognized nationwide. Academic excellence requires intelligence, creativity, and a lot of dedication. Our semi-finalists are a great example of those qualities.

Congratulations to our National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists!

This is a fantastic honor!

MCPASD Board of Education unanimously approves vaccine and testing mandate for district employees:

We believe this is yet another important step for us to take in our COVID-19 mitigation efforts. All local, state, and national level medical and public health organizations continue to communicate the importance of vaccination as the most effective virus mitigation strategy.

School Board Members to tour all MCPASD Schools:

Our board members are hitting the road this school year. MCPASD board meetings are always held at our District Services Center on South Avenue, but we have all decided to host some at our schools.

This will be happening throughout the year. Our first meeting was held at Park Elementary's new cafeteria, and it was the first time some of the board members saw the new space. The next one will be on Oct 25th at West Middleton Elementary School, starting at 7 p.m. All the events are on our website under the district calendar.

National School Lunch Week:

This is National Lunch Week! We wanted to share our appreciation to our nutrition staff and all that they do. Throughout all of the challenges we have faced, our staff has adapted to continue to provide our students with healthy lunches safely and efficiently.

That is all for now. MCPASD always has something new and exciting on the horizon so be sure to stay tuned for more Monthly Updates with Monogue!
