Poster for books and trees event. Simple tree graphic and details about the location and time of the event

Are you looking for a fun and free event over the weekend? The Madison Reading Project is teaming up with The friends of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy for their first “Books and Trees” event. The event is open to all ages on October 2, 2021, from 10 am-1 pm.

This offers guests the opportunity to wander and wonder as their tour guide leads groups through Bock Community forests. Guests can also look forward to craft activities, informal presentations, and a visit from the Big Red Reading Bus that will provide free books for children ages Pre-K through 5th grade.

“We’re excited to introduce our forestry preserve to more people, especially children, and show how important trees are to everyone,” said John Daly, Friends of Pheasant Branch vice president and an organizer of the event. “The John C. Bock Community Forest at Pheasant Branch is a wonderful example of successful forest management we all can be part of.”

Street parking is available outside of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy. Masks are optional during this event.
