The Model United Nations Club participated virtually in the Northwestern University Model United Nations Conference (NUMUN) on April 8-11.

The student delegates participated in a variety of committees, including the Special Political and Decolonization Committee, African Union, Environmental Programme, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Politbüro of the Communist Party of China, the 1968 Democratic National Convention, Italian Renaissance, Suleyman’s Divan, Press Corps, and the Colombian Cabinet of the 1980s.

Topics of the conference included internet governance, space security, handling of global pandemics, combatting drug trafficking, and regional power struggles, among many others. The conference also included several optional social events and the opportunity to network with other high school students throughout the Midwest.

At the closing ceremony, MHS junior Charlotte Neumann received an award for exceptional individual performance within her committee.
